A common worry: does my plan start counting down the moment I buy it? No. It starts when you actually connect to a network in the destination country.
Before your flight
- Install your eSIM at home (any time after purchase).
- Keep it disabled — only your home line should be active.
- Confirm that the eSIM appears in Settings → Cellular (iPhone) or SIM manager (Android).
When you land
- Toggle Airplane Mode OFF after touchdown.
- On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → tap your travel eSIM → toggle "Turn On This Line."
- On Android: SIM manager → enable your travel eSIM.
- In a few seconds, you'll see the carrier name appear in your status bar.
Not connecting?
- Toggle Airplane Mode on and off (this triggers a fresh network search).
- Restart your phone if Airplane Mode doesn't work.
- Make sure Data Roaming is ON for the travel eSIM line (it's OFF for the home line).
- Verify the eSIM line is selected as your Cellular Data source.
